Mystery: Try to Solve
I stirred awake as something rubbed up against me. But I only groaned and went back to sleep. Whatever rubbed up against me now started to nudge my muzzle. I opened my amber eyes and saw that it was only one of the pups. I yawned and lifted my head. “Miyaku, what is it?”The small wolf pup wagged her brown tail in desperation. “Mommy, I can’t find Aki, Ryu, and Aiden! They’re all gone!”
Now I was awake. I jumped up and ran out of the cave, sniffing the air for my missing pups. Their scent wasn’t even in the air. I whimpered as I looked around, scanning the trees, hoping my pups were just playing hide-and-seek.
“What’s wrong, Naomi?” My mate asked, as he walked out of the cave.
“Our pups are missing. Only Miyaku is still here!” I said, throwing my head back and howling in sorrow.
“Naomi, calm down. Are you sure they’re not just hiding?”
“I’m positive!” I barked, wondering how he could be so calm.
He didn’t reply. All he did was walk around a bit, looking through the trees. I followed behind him, wondering what he was up to. He stopped a couple of times to sniff the air or the ground, but never made a sound. But after a while, he just walked back to the cave and stopped.
“Who could have taken them?” He murmured sadly.
Just then, our omega, Lanzer, walked out of the trees. He walked up to us and looked down. “I’m sorry, I couldn’t catch the pups. Whatever took them was too fast.”
“Did you catch a glimpse of who it was?” I asked eagerly, my hope rising again.
He just shook his head. “All I could tell was that it was wolf. I couldn’t even tell you if it was more than one.”
I stopped and thought for a minute. “Well, let’s see. Who could it have been? There’s Spade, the alpha of our enemy pack…but why would he steal our pups?”
Lanzer and my mate shook their heads. I sighed and ran off into the forest. The only wolf scent I could smell was Lanzer’s, my mate’s, and mine.
But after several hours of running around, I turned and ran back to the cave. I now knew who it was that took my pups…
To be continued…
Poem_ Wolves and Humans
I wrote this for an ecology project, but I think it's an okay poem, so I decided to post it on here:Long ago our population soared.
Our packs spaced out,
All around the world.
The Natives treated us well,
And respected out ways.
Back then the climates were constant.
Pollution didn’t raid out health.
We were strong and clever
And prospered happily,
Until a new species came into our biome.
It was difficult for us to adapt,
To the new lifestyles set before us.
Soon the mammals we chose for prey
Started to dwindle.
Food for our family was harder to find.
We would go after livestock
When nothing else could be found.
But the humans would shoot,
Trap, poison, and kill us,
Just because we tried to survive.
Now our numbers are low,
And we are placed under
Protection by the few that care.
We’ve gained some back over the years,
But still need protection from the
Warm-blooded killers who hate us for what we are.
While the birds fly into the sky
And cold-blooded animals live their lives,
We are slowly being taken from our community;
Maybe never to return.
One day you may never hear our howl,
Or see us playing with out pack members,
If the humans continue
To live the way they do.
short stroy written by five people
A petite girl walked out of her house. Her long blue hair fell to her waist and her silver eyes gleamed in the light from the setting sun. Everything seemed perfectly normal about this evening. She walked awhile until she reached the edge of the forest. It was her normal routine to walk an hour alone before going home and eating dinner with her family. As she walked, her footsteps were light and silent, almost like a hunter’s step, but more carefree and gentle. She reached a clearing, where she would sit and meditate for a while. But something caught her attention. A boy was standing at the opposite side of the clearing. This forest was forbidden to full humans. He should have never been there in the first place. Her teeth slowly drew back as she whispered to herself ‘What is one of them doing here…’ with a soft growl growing from her lips. Her hand reached down, clenching a fist with it, which shook violently. But she took a breath through her nose, calming herself as she said “Hey!” which spooked the boy, making him jump up in fear “What are you doing here? This forest is forbidden to all humans, which means you!” Her finger jolted out to him, pointing over to him. He drew back in fear, gasping out as he looked around and opened his mouth. But nothing came from his lips. No voice, no sound, only his feared breath. “What’s the matter? Can’t speak?” he shook his head from side to side. “Oh…” She said quietly, now asking, “Do you know where you are?” his head shook again “I see, well…I guess this can pass but you must exit this forest, now.” She now pointed the opposite direction and he soon shook his head to her again. “What, scared?” the boy nodded. ”Fine, I’ll help you out of here. Just stick close to me and don’t touch anything.”
She started walking quickly through the tall trees. The boy hurried behind her. When the forest became a little bit darker, he stepped closer to her. She felt bad for the poor kid, and tried to make a little bit of conversation. “So,” she said, “Do you have any idea why you cant speak?” “I can” he replied quietly. She stopped short. Glared at him with angry eyes. He nearly whispered, “Just not when I’m scared.” “Oh.” She replied with understanding. Suddenly she felt bad about being so mean. “Sorry” she said softly. “It’s ok,” he answered. “You know, I’m not really a human.” She stared at him, incredulous. “Then what are you?” She asked. “I’m an elfy gnome sent to spy on you.” He replied, humor dancing in his eyes. She didn’t see it. “Oh, really?” she asked him. He couldn’t take it anymore. His little smile turned into a low chuckle and he couldn’t handle that for two seconds. He burst out laughing, almost falling to the ground. “Yes, really.” He managed between laughter. And I’m going to secretly kill you when no one’s watching. Just don’t tell anyone.” She finally understood that he was just joking around. She smiled. “But really.” She said, “Who, or what, are you?”
But what she didn’t understand what it was all a set-up and he really was sent to spy and get information about all the half human creatures, and than kill them when they get all the information that they needed. So, instead he replied, “ I’m trying to find a short-cut to get to Englewood beach, rather than walking along the busy traffic highways.
“Oh, I see we’ll I’ll bring you to the end of the forest, than I must continue to where I was going, or else I would be going out of my way for a full human. And that is pitied upon. And than that’s when she felt a piece of her long blue hair being swiped at cutting off about 5 inches leaving it resting at her shoulders, than a jab in the side she was being taken advantage of when she was just trying to help him get where he needs to be. She screamed for her friends and family in her native language but no one seemed to hear her she was too deep into the forest, he stabbed her with his pocketknife and left with her hair, shoe, and her ring. Then all of a sudden it got all quiet. She had kicked him and took him off of her and then she got up with all the strength she had left and took the knife and stabled him. She couldn’t be live that she had done this. He was dead that’s what she though and she would wait there for a few minutes and then she started to walk away. She was walking and walking until she found her way out. Then she found her way out. She walked home and everything was ok. She was fine and went to get checked. She then lived a good life and never hope to get into that trouble again.

Trees surround me,As I walk home.
The sun sets
In the far horizon.
Animals scamper
To get home before dark
Nocturnal animals
Come out to
Enjoy the night.
The forest is
My playground
And where I learn
About the nature and Animals around me.
Missouri has a lot of farmland and agriculture is big, but there are also many cities with buildings. One of these cities is Columbia. I think Columbia Missouri is a nice place to live. Though there are not many trees or wooded areas as much as there are in other places, there are nice big oak trees that are fun to climb in. Also, there are a lot of gumball trees where in autumn the spiky gumballs will fall of and children will gather them before the bus would come. I would sit and watch my siblings gather the gumballs and toss them into the streets in the hope that the bus would run over them and get a flat tire, which of course never worked. Yet, it was fun to do all the same. at that time, my bus stop was my driveway and there were two bus stops on my street. My street was also on a hill, which made it fun for riding bikes, but not for mowing the lawn. There are many Duplexes in Columbia, and one of my best friends live in one across the street from me. Once in school we each got a red Dogwood tree and were todl that the tree was the state tree. My grandpa took me up to his farm and helped me plant it, yet there are so many trees there, we are not sure if it survived. All of Missouri was nice, but Columbia will always be home for me.
