How a train station looks to a train, a duck flying overhead, and a passenger arriving too late for the train.

The train station is coming into view. Finally, a chance to rest. I have been going for three hours now with no breaks. My job is tiring! But I can do it. At least I’ll have at least a half hour before I have to leave again. How many people is the engineer planning to shove into me this time? Oh well, I will find out once they start to load.

Whoa! What is that? I was just heading towards the lake and yet, there is something big and open! Wow, it is full of humans. Many different kinds too. Aw, the small humans are crying. I miss my children. I wonder if they miss me? Well, I bet they will be very entertained by this new discovery. I should not stay any longer. I have got to get home to my little ducklings.

Crap! I get to the train station just as the freaking train leaves. That’s just great! Now what am I supposed to do? I am supposed to be leaving to visit my aunt and uncle in Rhode Island. It is a long three hour trip on train, but even longer by car. I just do not have enough money for gas. And I checked the Internet for plane fees. I just do not have enough money for that either. The train is my only option. It is the only transportation I can afford. Let’s see, how long till the next train to Rhode Island? No way! Two hours? I better call my Aunt Lisa and Uncle Bryan and tell them that I will be a few hours late.
